Legendary Tattoo Artist, "Skip"... Allan R. "Skip" Echternacht, 62, of Denver , entered into rest on May 10, 2008, in his home after a two and a half year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Ephrata, a son of the late George W. and Susan H. (Cooper) Echternacht, he was the husband of Linda L. (Sweigart) Echternacht. He was the owner-operator of Skip's Tattoo Body Piercing, Lancaster, and over the years had operated shops throughout Lancaster Berks Counties. A member of St. John 's United Church of Christ, Denver , he loved playing cards, fishing and bowling. Skip's Tattoo sponsors a bowling team at Dutch Lanes, Brownstown. Also surviving: daughters, Mindy L. Echternacht, companion of Shawn West, Denver ; Lucinda (Ken) Zittel, Stevens; and Kelly K. (John) Althouse, Ephrata; sons, Anthony L. (Michele Yinger) Echternacht, Ephrata; Alan (Tamara McQuary) Echternacht, Alberta, Canada; George (Virginia Bennicoff) Echternacht, Ephrata; and Troy M. (Isabella Mineo) Crowther, Narvon; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Loraine F. Steingraber, and brother, Clarence J. (Joan Reider) Echternacht, both of Denver. Viewing Funeral Service... Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at 11:00 AM, from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Reamstown, PA, with his pastor, The Reverend David R. Brumbaugh, officiating. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, and the casket will be open on Thursday prior to the service. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring, PA 19608.
