Anna G. Hopkins

Anna G. Hopkins, age 98, formerly of Adamstown, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Friday, March 9, 2018, at 8:10 PM, in Wellington Terraceat Hershey's Mill, West Chester, Chester County, PA. Born in West Reading, Berks County, a daughter of the late George W. and Edna Mae (Werley) Oaks, her husband of 71 years, Kenneth Hopkins, died June 12, 2015. A 1937 Reading High School graduate, Anna worked at various Air Force bases while stationed with her late husband, for Reading High School, Vanity Fair, Boehringer's Drive-In and Bollman Hat Company, both Adamstown. She was an active member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville,and was involved with youth fellowship at former St. Paul's Church, Adamstown, a Girl Scout Leader and former president of Adamstown Woman's Club. Anna never missed a Flyers game, loved bowling, playing cards, games (especially mahjong) and supported her grand and great-grandchildren's sports events. Trips to Cape May with family and friends were special to her. She loved life and all it had to offer! Surviving is her daughter, Gerry Ann, married to Eric L. Flicker, West Chester; grandchildren, Andrea Youndt and Kimberly Evans; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Sidney Evans; step-grandchildren, Michael, married to Kim Flicker and Scott married to Michelle Flicker; and step-great-grandchildren, Ryan and Kaitlyn Flicker. A sister, Sara Kolb, predeceased her. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018, at 11 AM from Peace UCC, 37 E. Swartzville Rd., Denver, PA 17517, with the viewing from 10 to 11 AM; Pastor Mark Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown.
