Remembering John with Love... John Henry Kitch, age 87, of Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, Lancaster County, PA, formerly of Reinholds, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Hospice of Lancaster County - Mt. Joy Inpatient Center . Born in Lancaster , a son of the late John A. and Minerva (Steffy) Kitch, his wife of 65 years, Arline (Zeiset) Kitch, died February 27, 2011. John worked for 28 1/2 years for Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources as an Assistant District Forester. He later managed the Cocalico Christmas Tree Farm and was a partner in Kitch Nursery. An Army veteran of WW II, he was a Purple Heart recipient. John was a member of Brownstown Ebenezer Evangelical Congregational Church, Lancaster County Wood Carvers Association, Disabled American Veterans and Society of American Foresters. John found enjoyment in wood carving realistic ducks, geese and old Santa's, traveling, loved fellowship with others; most of all he loved the Lord and his family. Surviving: son, John Alan (Dottie) Kitch, Fairhope, Alabama; daughter; Clare M. LeFevre, Denver, PA; sister, Catherine (Kenneth) Dietrich; grandchildren, Rev. John Diller, James Diller, Amy LeFevre and Ann LeFevre; 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Dennis Lee Kitch and a brother, Alfred Kitch. Service Information... Funeral services were held Monday, April 30, at 11:00 AM, from Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, PA. Burial with military honors followed in Steinmetz Cemetery , West Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, PA. A viewing was held Monday 10-11 AM.
