Melvin R. Mohn

Remembering Melvin with love... Melvin R. Mohn, 75, of 188 North Reamstown Road, Reamstown, Lancaster County, died in his residence Friday morning at 2:50 AM following a lengthy illness. Born in Shillington, Berks County, he was a son of the late John K. and Lillie (Pfautz) Mohn, and was the husband of Esther M. (Steffy) Mohn for 52 years on June 9th. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, Reamstown. Mohn had retired after over 30 years as a machinist with the former Ephrata Tool Die, now Ephrata Precision Parts, Ephrata, PA. He was an Army Sergeant 1st Class during the Korean War, having served in Austria. A life member, former assistant fire chief, engineer and captain of the fire police of Reamstown Fire Company No. 1, he was also an active member of the Lancaster County and Pennsylvania State Fire Police Associations. Melvin also enjoyed woodworking. Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 daughters, Melissa A., married to Terry L. Arment, East Earl, PA; and Lisa G., married to Timothy P. Trinkley, Akron, PA; 2 granddaughter; 4 step-grandchildren; and a brother, Lavern R., married to Marguerite (Ansel) Mohn, Akron, PA. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary, in 1959; and 3 brothers, Clair, Galen and John Paul Mohn. Viewing Services... A viewing will be held from our parlors on Sunday evening, September 14, 2003, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The casket will also be open prior to the service at the church on Monday. Services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2003, at 10:00 AM from St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, 46 East Church Street, Reamstown, with his pastor, The Reverend Kirk R. Marks, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery Annex, near Denver, PA. Contributions...
