William A. “Bert” Dillingham, 91, of Brecknock Township, passed away Saturday, April 13th, 2024, at the Reading Hospital. Born in Asheville, North Carolina, Bert was a son to the late Elmer and Edith (Rice) Dillingham. Bert was the loving husband to Mildred (Spicher) Dillingham for nearly 50 years until her passing in 2020.
Bert was a graduate of Sand Hill High School, class of 1952. After graduating from high school, Bert went directly into the U.S. Navy. His navy career opened up his lifelong career in welding, eventually owning his own welding business called “Bert’s Welding” for approximately 50 years. Bert was a member of the Masonic Lodge VFW. He enjoyed watching and talking sports and loved getting together with his family and friends and sharing his knowledge of the Navy. He will be missed dearly by family and friends.
Bert is survived by a daughter, Denise Dillingham of Narvon; two step-children, Colleen Wachob of Luthersburg & Donald “Butch” (Peggy) Gelnett of Bowmansville; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life event will be held May 17th, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 34 North Reamstown Road, Reamstown, PA 17567.
