Annie N.
Maxwell
May 28, 1985 – April 23, 2026
St. Peter’s Lutheran Church
Starts at 1:00 pm (Eastern time)
Annie N. Maxwell, 40, of Ephrata, went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 23, 2026. Born on May 28, 1985, in Richmond, Virginia, Annie was the daughter of James W. & Shirley M. Maxwell. Annie’s life journey was one marked by resilience, faith, and a deep commitment to serving others.
A 2004 graduate of Bradford Area High School, Annie distinguished herself not only academically but also athletically. She played on the Varsity Women’s Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball teams, demonstrating a strong team spirit and dedication that followed her throughout her life. She also was a member of the Girl Scouts for many years, showing her leadership skills and love of helping others. Adopted as a child in Virginia Beach, Annie was the daughter of a Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer, which shaped a childhood of constant change and adaptability. Her early school years were spent across various locales including Brunswick, Maine, Warminster, Pennsylvania, and Bradford, Pennsylvania. These experiences within different communities enriched her outlook on life and fueled her love of meeting new people and building meaningful relationships. After high school, she relocated back to Warminster, before eventually moving to Doylestown, where she worked in retail and later in residential personal care—fields in which she truly made a difference through her genuine care and kindness. Annie’s warmth extended beyond her professional endeavors into numerous community and church activities. A devoted member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Bradford, she found solace and purpose through her faith. Her trust in Jesus brought her a profound sense of belonging, symbolizing her ultimate adoption into God’s family. She was actively involved with church youth activities, including serving as an acolyte and volunteering at the Luther Lyn Camp in western Pennsylvania, where she selflessly served others and helped nurture the spiritual growth of young people. Her passions were diverse and heartfelt. Annie loved animals dearly, especially her two beloved fur babies, Maze and Motley, who brought joy to her daily life. She also possessed natural charisma and creativity, which she expressed while attending Bucks County Community College. There, she took on the role of reporter and news anchor for the campus radio station, impressing all who knew her with her presence behind the camera. Annie even pursued modeling opportunities, demonstrating her adventurous spirit and willingness to explore new avenues. Each place she lived held a special chapter in her life story, reflecting a woman who embraced change and enriched her surroundings wherever she went. Though she has passed from this world, the legacy she leaves in the hearts of family, friends, and all who knew her remains enduring and profound.
Annie is survived by her parents, James W. & Shirley M. Maxwell of Mechanicsburg, PA; her brother, Todd L. Garver of French Creek, WV; and her sweet cat fur-babies, Maze & Motley; aunts, uncles, & cousins. Annie recently connected with two biological half siblings, Cory and Nakia, and was getting to know them via Facebook. Annie is also predeceased by maternal grandparents: Robert E. Ralson and Carla N. Ralson; paternal grandparents: Stephen K. Maxwell and Joan A. Maxwell; & her dog, Corina, who was by her side for over ten years and accompanied her in her life changes.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 13th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church located at 130 Nittany Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
In lieu of flowers if you would like to donate in memory of Annie, please donate to any animal rescue organization of your choice or to ORCA, 401 E. Orange St, Landcaster, PA 17602.
