Ephrata

Betty L. Anderson, 94, went to be home with the Lord on June 26, 2025, at Ephrata Manor. Born on May 17, 1931, in West Chester, she was a daughter to the late Ebert and Zelda (Rosenberry) Hammond. Betty was also the loving wife of Mr. Charles E. Anderson for 74 years until his passing in April of 2025.

Betty devoted 36 years of her life to serving the children of the Central York School District and the formerly known Raymond Groff as a school bus driver. Her commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of young students made her a beloved figure among families in the district. Betty was also a proud member of Hope United Methodist Church in Ephrata, Betty found strength and fellowship through her faith. Furthermore, she actively contributed to her community as a dedicated member of the Ephrata and International Lions Clubs, where she embraced the spirit of service and community betterment. Betty will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, her passion for her work, and her deep-rooted commitment to her community. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Betty is survived by two sons, Kenneth E. (Judy) Anderson and Dale (Sandra) Anderson; five grandchildren: Jennifer, Michael (Molly), Brian (Jessica), Kate (CJ), and Rachel (Brett); two step-grandchildren, Myranda (Tyler) and Caleb (Angela), along with four great-grandchildren, Cora, Marlowe, Harris, & Chloe. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Dorothy Karns, Lois Wentz, and Julia Peters, as well as her brother, Craig Hammond.

A visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3rd with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 100 W. Main Street, Ephrata, PA 17522. Betty’s final resting place will be at the Brunnerville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to give extreme amounts of appreciation to the members and staff of Ephrata Manor for the care they took of Mr. Charles and Mrs. Betty Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are appreciated to the Hope United Methodist Church, 3474 Rothsville Rd, Ephrata, PA 17522.
