Bryan E. Tearney

March 13, 1951 — October 15, 2025

Bryan E. Tearney, 74, went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2025, at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born on March 13, 1951, in Lancaster, Bryan was a son of the late George K. Jr. & Mary "J.B." (Bair) Tearney, and the loving husband for 14 years to Wanda Tearney.

Bryan was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, class of 1969. Bryan enjoyed a diverse and fulfilling career, serving as a site supervisor for UGI and PPL, and later at Fuss Oil. Later in life, he became self-employed, showcasing his passion for cars and motorcycles by turning his skills into a thriving business, where he lovingly repaired and refurbished vehicles. His love for automobiles was genuinely remarkable; there were often jokes made that he had oil in his veins instead of blood. A devoted motorcycle enthusiast, Bryan was particularly fond of his purple Harley Street Glide and reveled in the thrill of drag racing with his Mustang, where he had numerous victories to his name. An avid fan of the Phillies and Eagles, Bryan eagerly attended games, proud to support his teams. His interests were diverse, but they all reflected his vibrant personality and zest for life. He was a kind-hearted soul who touched many lives—always ready to share a laugh, Bryan had a rough exterior that belied the teddy bear heart within. Known for his generosity, he would often give out a dollar to children when he went shopping, an act that encapsulated his caring nature. Family was paramount in Bryan's life, enjoying every special dinner or event that he could be with them. His life was a testament to passion, humor, and love, and he will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Along with his wife, Bryan is survived by his five beloved children: Shawn Tearney, Jason Tearney, Justin Tearney, and Steven and David Weisneck. He also leaves behind nine adoring grandchildren—Brittani, Emma, Harper, Ryan, Brianna, Kyle, Conor, Savannah, and Bennett; three great-grandchildren, Yeli, Katalaya, and Nova – as well as three siblings: Cynthia F. Matroni, Douglas A. Tearney, and Lisa Marie Tearney.

A viewing will be held on October 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both taking place at the Lancaster Evangelical Free Church, located at 419 Pierson Rd, Lititz, PA. A graveside service will follow at Witness Park Cemetery in Lititz.
