Obituary

Carol A. (Ohms) Walmer, 70, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026. Born in Dayton Ohio, she grew up as a minister's daughter and moved often based on her father's missions.

Carol was the loving wife of 45 years to her husband, R. Michael Walmer. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and a steadfast commitment, their story rooted in companionship. An alumna of Mansfield University, Carol earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, allowing her compassion for others to flourish. She touched many lives with her selfless heart, offering guidance and support both personally and professionally.

Family was at the very center of Carol’s life. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Brittany Zuver (Jeremy), and her beloved granddaughter, Sophie, who lovingly called her MawMaw. Carol took immense joy in being surrounded by her family, cherishing every small moment together. Carol will be fondly remembered as the dedicated keeper of all memories. Her passion for scrapbooking transformed everyday moments into treasured keepsakes, ensuring her family’s story would live on for generations. She also enjoyed constructing puzzles, piecing together beautiful scenes just as she did with life’s many memories.

Travel was another source of happiness for Carol. She especially adored cruises and trips to Ocean City, New Jersey—the rhythm of the ocean waves and the comfort of sandy beaches brought her peace and joy.

Carol’s passing leaves an unfillable space in the hearts of her family and friends, but her spirit continues to guide and inspire all who were fortunate to know her. Her life stands as a testament to the power of memory, connection, and unconditional love.

Carol is also survived by brothers, Dan (Nancy) Ohms of West Chester and Bruce (Rose) Ohms of Phenix AZ.

Services will be held on Wed., July 1st at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, Pa. Viewing 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Service: 3:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Thurs., July 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.
