Chester L. Clair, 81, known affectionately as Chet, passed away on October 25th, 2025, in the Hospice & Community Care Center in Mount Joy. Born on October 11, 1944, in Penn Township, he was a son of the late Harvey and Alverta (Eshleman) Clair. He grew up in the Penn Township and Hershey area, as one of many children.

Chester exemplified dedication throughout his life, both in his personal endeavors and professional career as a lifetime electrician. He worked at notable companies including Hurst Electric, Lancaster Electric, and BJ Baldwin Electric before retiring at the age of 66. Chester had lived in Reamstown for the past 33 years and was known for his unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand. Chester's contributions to his community were numerous and significant. He took great pride in volunteering at the Reamstown Memorial Park, where he was instrumental in installing lights at the ballfield and along the walking trail. His big heart was always evident, especially when tragedy struck the park, as he was among the first to respond when vandalism occurred. Chester was a devoted member of the Lions Club for many years and participated actively in the Reamstown Athletic Association since 1984. He also belonged to the Fraternal Order of Orioles, Denver PA Nest No. 54 and Leighton Nest No. 183, and served as fire police for Shaefferstown, directing traffic during local carnivals. Chester will be remembered not only for his technical skills but more profoundly for the countless lives he impacted through his compassionate spirit and tireless service to the community. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those that knew him.

Chester is survived by his siblings: Samuel Clair of Reinholds, Raymond "Ben" Clair, husband of Pam Weber Clair of Ephrata, and John H. Clair, husband of Victoria Weidler Clair of Denver. He is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews. Chester was preceded in death by brothers Harvey Clair Jr., Charles "Art" Clair, Norman Clair, and Alvin "Menno" Clair, as well as sisters Grace Nixdorf and Daisy Claus.
