Darle E. Birchall

Darle E. Birchall, age 68, of Akron Borough, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at 10:20 PM in Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Bedford, Bedford County, a son of Nora M. (Nave) Birchall, Brethren Village, Neffsville, and the late Warren H. Birchall, he was married to Darla E. (Hackman) Birchall for 47 years. A 1965 Cocalico High School graduate, he was a Vietnam War Army veteran. Darle retired after 25 years as a PA State Trooper, last at the Lancaster Barracks, and worked part-time for Garden Spot Auto Auction, Ephrata. He cherished his grandchildren, enjoyed driving his Corvette and motorcycle (especially on Memorial Day for "Rolling Thunder"), and was a huge Flyers fan. Darle was a volunteer driver for "Meals on Wheels" for over 15 years, was a member of Ephrata Lodge #665 F&AM, and Cocalico Sportsman Association. Also surviving are his daughters, Wendy B., wife of John Masterson, Ephrata; & Gwen A., wife of Chris White, Lititz; & grandchildren, Alyssa, Alex, Tyler, Charlie, Jack & Lucy.
