Darrell L. "Pops" Showalter

Remembering "Pops" with Love... Darrell L. "Pops" Showalter, 56, of Denver , died unexpectedly at work August 25, 2008. Born in Lancaster , a son of Harold K. Showalter, Colombia , PA, and Betty (Constien) Groff, Terre Hill , PA , he was the 22 year companion of Katherine L. Miller. Employed by Weave Corporation, Denver , for the past 3 years, he had worked 18 years for Latshaw Brothers Concrete, Denver . An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a proud Pop Pop (grandfather). Also surviving is a son, Vinton "Sporty" (Justina) Heisey, Manheim; daughters, Tasha (Dane) Weik, Heather (Frankie) Suriano, and Michelle (Keith) Weaver, all of Denver; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Cheryl Ritter, Sandy Spence and Tina Arment; and brothers, Bobby Truitt and Perry Showalter. A brother, Dale Groff, predeceased him. Viewing Funeral Service... Funeral services will be held Friday, August 29, 2008, at 10:00 AM from Harvest Fellowship, 34 W. Church St. , Stevens, PA 17578, with Pastor Eugene Weaver officiating. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre of Reamstown. The casket will also be open Friday prior to the service.
