Duane K Shelton, 44, of Lancaster and Ephrata passed away on July 8th 2025 at home. He was born in Lancaster and was the son of the late Diane Kaumeheiwa and Kennie Shelton.
He graduated from Ephrata High School and received an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice while residing in Hawaii. Duane worked as a fabricator/welder in the Ephrata area. Duane enjoyed playing football with the Ephrata midget leagues in his youth but also was an accomplished wrestler. He wrestled throughout his school days, elementary through high school. Duane became a high school wrestling coach at Waianae High school while he resided in Hawaii.
Duane is survived by his son, Phoenix Charles Shelton, sisters Cherie Alvarado (Jason) of Elizabethtown and Lynette of Delaware, brothers Kamaka Kaumeheiwa of Denver and Kalei Kaumeheiwa of Georgia and stepfather Kalani Kaumeheiwa of Hawaii. He is also survived by three nephews Tylere Alvarado, Jose Rivera Jr. (Sara) and Manny Rivera all of Pennsylvania, a niece Annabelle Kaumeheiwa of Georgia and a grandniece Peyton Rivera of Ephrata. He is also survived by countless aunties, uncles and cousins from Hawaii to the East Coast.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with services will be held at 11:00 am on July 16th 2025, at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre; 100 W. Main Street, Ephrata, PA 17522. Burial services will be at 12:00 at Cedar Hill Cemetery. A luncheon will be hosted by Jose Rivera Jr and Cherie Alvarado after internment. The address will be provided during the service.
