E. Roger Noll, a devoted member of his community and a cherished husband, passed away on December 17, 2025, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born on July 6, 1939, in Lancaster, was a son of the late Elvin & Elsie (Wagner) Noll, and loving husband of Audrey (Haldeman) Noll. Roger was a man whose life was characterized by service, commitment, and a caring spirit.
Roger began his professional journey after graduating from Cocalico High School in 1958 and later attending Coyn Tech School in Chicago, Illinois, where he trained as an electrician, specializing in heating and air conditioning. He worked diligently at Sico Heating and Cooling, from which he retired in the 1990s. Roger also served his country in the United States Military from 1962 to 1963. Roger loved his community and served as the East Cocalico Township Supervisor from 1988 to 1993. His strong work ethic was matched by a passion for helping others, particularly evident in his longstanding involvement with the Reamstown Fire Company. For over 70 years, Roger held every administrative office within the company, including Chief Engineer. He also served as the Fire School Safety Director for the Lancaster County Fireman’s Association, training countless firefighters throughout Lancaster County. He was a life member of the Lancaster County Fire Association, even holding the position of president, and was actively involved on the historical committee of the Reamstown Fire Company. Roger was currently serving as the President of the Lancaster County Fireman’s Association (LCFA) Educational Foundation, a non-profit that Roger felt very passionate about. He also supported Audrey in the dish room during banquets at the fire hall and ensuring that the soda machine was always stocked. His contributions to fire safety education were recognized with the State Fireman Association Award for training, showcasing his dedication to improving the safety of both adults and children in the community. His love for the fire department and the community was evident every day of his life.
Roger was also an active member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, where he not only participated in various committees but also took charge of the church's recycling efforts. His commitment to the church extended to his leadership role in the stewardship program. Roger had a personality that won the hearts of those around him—he was caring, pleasant, persistent, devoted, and dedicated. He took pride in his many hobbies and interests, including his many collections of model fire trucks, model trains, coins, stamps, calendars, and pencils. Roger had an unwavering dedication to service and community and will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Audrey Noll; his brother-in-law, David Haldeman (Elaine); his sister-in-law, Judy Vollertsen (Louie); and numerous nieces and nephews, including Michael, Paul, Eric, Leon, Kay, Jean, Sandy, and Jason. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Elsie (Wagner) Noll.
