Elaine Beck, 92, of Ephrata, passed away at her home in Ephrata on September 12, 2026. She was born on December 5, 1933, in Ephrata, Pennsylvania to the late Frank & Mary (Ruth) Weidman, and the loving wife of Milton E. Beck for 73 years until his passing in 2024.
Elaine built a life rooted in work, humor, and the simple pleasures she enjoyed. From 1967 to 1981, she worked at Husin Shirt Company. She later served as a cafeteria aide for WellSpan Community Hospital of Ephrata until her retirement. In both her working years and her daily life, she was known as a jokester, bringing a lighthearted spirit to those around her. She also enjoyed going to sales, especially yard sales and household sales, a pastime that brought her happiness over the years. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her and may her warm spirit be remembered with affection.
Elaine is survived by two daughters, Darla, wife of Ken Carpenter, Joyce, wife of the late Roanld Horst; three grandchildren, Derek, husband of Stacy Carpenter, Brandon, husband of Dawn Carpenter, Melissa Nissley; two great-grandsons, Cale Carpenter, Jayce Carpenter. Along with her husband, Elaine was predeceased by her seven siblings: Miriam, Jack, Jeff, Bob, Frank, Vernon, & Lois.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 100 W Main St, Ephrata, PA 17522. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Elaine’s final resting place will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery with her beloved husband, Milton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are appreciated to WellSpan Hospice: 252 South 4th Street, Lebanon, PA 17042. The family is very grateful for their love and care for Elaine.
