Erla Walter

Remembering Erla... Erla B. Walter, 90, formerly of Rothsville and Denver , died Wednesday, November 5, 2008, in Ephrata Community Hospital . Born in East Cocalico Township , she was a daughter of the late Milton and Stella (Trostle) Buchter. Her husband, Galen C. Walter, died January 22, 1990. A member of St. Paul 's Lutheran Church , Penryn, Erla worked years ago at Miller-Hess Shoe Co., Akron , and enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Surviving is a daughter, Marian Swett, Houston , DE ; grandchildren, Marian Michelle Witmer and Robert Eugene Kendig; a great-granddaughter, Nichole Ray Surdyk; sisters, Estella T. McQuate, Denver ; and Viola M. Moyer, Shillington; and brothers, Charles S. Buchter, Shillington; and Leon R. Buchter, Reading. Viewing Funeral Service... Funeral services will be held Monday, November 10, 2008, at 11:00 AM in St. Paul 's Lutheran Church , Penryn, with The Rev. David T. Hinkley officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Rather than flowers, contributions in Erla's memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive , Lancaster , PA 17604 .
