Franklin E. Weaver

Franklin E. Weaver, a beloved husband father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends on April 18, 2025. Born and raised in Ephrata, Franklin was a son of the late Franklin E. & Shirley A. (Brubaker) Weaver, and the loving husband of Sandra L. (Kochel) Weaver of over 50 years.

A graduate of Ephrata High School in 1969, Franklin dedicated his professional life to the building industry, working for esteemed companies such as Redman Homes and Blue Lake Builders. In his leisure time, Franklin had a wide array of hobbies that brought him joy. Franklin volunteered his time for events with the Stevens Fire Company. He was an avid train enthusiast, a lover of camping, Dutchman Lanes bowler, and a softball coach and enthusiast. His love for automobiles extended to drag racing, a sport he followed with keen interest. Notably, Franklin was immensely proud to attend every sporting event for his children and grandchildren, demonstrating his unwavering support and dedication to his family. He was not only fun-loving but also a source of encouragement to those around him. He enjoyed sharing moments with family and friends, always ready with a smile and a story. Franklin’s kindness, humor, and spirit will be deeply missed.

Along with his wife, Franklin is survived by three children, Charity A. (Jarred) Weidman, Jeremy T. (Andria) Weaver, and Joshua T. (Kelly) Weaver; daughter-in-law, Kimberly A. Weaver; six grandchildren, Sarah Weidman, Hannah Weaver, Braydyn Weaver, Owen Weaver, Jackson Weaver, and Collin Weaver; two step-grandchildren, Ashley and Meaghen Phelps; step-great-granddaughter Charlotte Palkowitz; five siblings, Scott Weaver, David Weaver, Stanley Weaver, Daniel Weaver, and Fay Schwanger; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Doreen Weaver, and his son, Chad A. Weaver.

In honor of Franklin’s life, viewing services will be held on April 24, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on April 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Gravenor Sipler Funeral Home and Cremation, located at 100 W. Main Street, Ephrata, PA. A funeral service will follow on April 25, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at the same location.
