Joseph D. Aflague, 77, of Stevens, passed away on October 29, 2025, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. He was born on January 28, 1948, in Agaña, Guam, to the late Maria F. (Untalan) Aflague, and was the loving husband of 52 years to Marguerite D. (Moorhead) Aflague.

Joseph dedicated more than two decades of his life to military service as a proud member of the Army Infantry Airborne Unit and Army Ranger, serving honorably through two tours in Vietnam, where he demonstrated tremendous bravery and commitment. After his military service, Joseph transitioned to a fulfilling career as an autobody painter in the greater Philadelphia area, proudly serving the community until his retirement in the early 2000s. He was deeply involved in his local church community, serving as an active member of the East Cocalico Church of the Brethren, where he held the esteemed positions of head usher and deacon, and engaged actively with the men's group. Known for his loving demeanor and jovial spirit, he was a jokester who loved to bring laughter and joy to those around him. Joseph's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was a dedicated family man who found joy in bowling with his wife in the Dutch Lanes league, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting in the great outdoors. His love for barbecuing created lasting memories for his family, as did his enthusiasm for travel. Joseph visited many places across the world, including Guam, Alaska, and North Carolina, relishing each opportunity to connect with family. His legacy of love, humor, and service will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Joseph is survived by his three children, Dorothy Harris (Jonathan), Linnea Allred (Michael), and Melissa Snader, along with seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; four siblings, Dr. Faye Untalan, Helen Pangelinan, Sister Joelle Marie, and Lydia Kakia; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish their memories of him. Joseph was preceded in death by his sister, Rita George.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 5th at 11:00 a.m. at East Cocalico Church of the Brethren; 4 Bunker Hill Rd, Reamstown, PA 17567. The Red Rose and Vet 21 Veteran Honor Guards will be presenting honors for Joseph's military service.
