Kenneth E. Ludwig

Kenneth E. Ludwig, aged 83, of Leola, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 19, 2025, at the Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on May 22, 1942, in East Earl, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Elwood S. and Irene I. (Spriggle) Ludwig, and the loving husband of Miriam Louise (Shirey) Ludwig for 60 beloved years.

Ken's professional career was marked by dedication and diversity. He began his working life at the Zausner Food Corporation for two years from 1965 to 1966. He then devoted 23 years to the Pennsylvania Scale Company in Leola, after which he lent his talents to various local businesses, including Good's Furniture in New Holland, Martin's Flooring in East Earl, Martin's Hardware Store in Leola, Exxon Gas Station in Leola, and the Manheim Auto Auction. His contributions to these establishments reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to serving his community. Ken and Miriam are members of Community Bible Church of Leola. Outside of his professional pursuits, Ken was a man of many interests and passions. He cherished his classic 1960 Chevy Impala ragtop, which he kept in pristine condition. Ken took immense pride in showcasing his car at local car shows, consistently bringing home trophies for his dedication to automotive excellence. Additionally, he spent countless hours creating an O gauge train yard in his basement, demonstrating both his creativity and meticulous attention to detail. He also found joy in watching his only grandson, Brock Hammaker, excel in baseball and football. Prior to the arrival of his children, Ken and his beloved wife, Miriam, shared memorable times together riding horses. Ken and Miriam enjoyed 30 years at the family cabin in Perry County. His love for family was further expressed through many camping trips and playing cards, treasuring quality moments with them. Ken will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Ken is survived by his loving children, Renee L. (Lawrence) Hammaker and Lori L. (Jeff) Groff, and his grandson, Brock Hammaker. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Kenneth E. Ludwig Jr.

A viewing will take place on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., located at 34-38 N. Reamstown Road, Reamstown, Pennsylvania, 17567. Interment will follow the services at Muddy Creek Cemetery.
