Leon L. "Tex" Texter, age 80, of Brecknock Township, Denver, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Friday, October 10, 2014, at 3:40 pm in his daughter"s Adamstown home under hospice care. Born in Vinemont, Berks County, PA, a son of the late Elwood and Helen (Drybread) Texter, he was married to Peggy E. (Bair) Texter for 59 years. A 1952 Wilson High School graduate and Army veteran, he was a bricklayer and brickmaker for Glen-Gery Brick, Reading. An avid outdoorsman, "Tex" was a hunter, loved yard work (especially weed whacking) and enjoyed playing cards. Also surviving is his daughter, "Cookie" Heagy, Adamstown, companion of Keith Kupp; granddaughter, Jamie (Michael) Lutz, Mohnton; and great-grandchildren, Victoria & Tyler Rehm. He was predeceased by sisters, Marian Texter & Betty Lutz; and his yorkie, "Jackson". A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 18, at 10 AM from Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown.
