Lorraine Patterson, 95, of Lititz, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born on September 28, 1930, in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late John Brugger and Gladys Bixler, and the loving wife of the late Kenneth A. Patterson until his passing in 1986.
Lorraine grew up in Ephrata and graduated with the Ephrata High School class of 1948, embarking on the first steps of a long and fulfilling journey. She served her community for many years as a meticulous correspondent clerk, first with Dutch Maid and later with the Lancaster Parking Authority. After her official retirement, Lorraine continued to serve others, embracing a part-time position at Turkey Hill on Rothsville Road, where her friendly manner and reliability were warmly remembered. Outside of her professional and family commitments, Lorraine found happiness in her hobbies and interests. She loved bowling in leagues at Dutch Lanes, where many friendships and memories were made. Lorraine was an avid bingo player and had an undeniable fondness for candy, especially Good & Plenty. Her beloved pets brought her endless joy through the years, and she delighted in quiet moments spent watching the Phillies and savoring western movies or daytime soap operas—never missing an episode. A lifelong lover of music, Lorraine shared a special bond with her daughter Karla through their mutual love of Elvis Presley and with her youngest daughter, Lisa, through their shared appreciation of country music. On occasion, she enjoyed trying her luck at Hollywood Casino, embracing life’s surprises with a hopeful spirit. Those who knew Lorraine knew her as a steady presence, someone who relished life’s daily pleasures and whose laughter and companionship enriched the lives around her. Her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her.
Lorraine is survived by her daughters, Karla Candelaria (Eddie) and Lisa Louwerse; her grandchildren, Michael Candelaria (Ashley), Nikki Baker (Matt), Kenny Louwerse, and Shania Drake (Timmy); and her great-grandchildren, E.J., Weston, Ryker, & Daisy Candelaria, Kyle & Cassidy Baker, Xavier, Mason, and Eli Drake.
Family and friends are invited to honor Lorraine’s memory during a visitation on Friday, July 10th, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 100 W Main St, Ephrata, PA 17522. A private graveside service will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Sinking Spring.
