Louise L. Sweigart

February 28, 1928 — June 28, 2025

Wyomissing

Louise Dela Law Sweigart “Weezie”, 97, passed away peacefully at her residence, The Highlands at Wyomissing, on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Born in Cumru, Berks County, on February 28, 1928, Weezie was the beloved daughter of Mary Heilman Law and Lawrence D. Law. She graduated from Shillington High School in 1946 alongside her high school sweetheart, Daniel “Danny” Pierce Sweigart. After graduation, she attended Empire Beauty School. She went on to enjoy a remarkable career at Hope Hosiery, where she worked for nearly 60 years and retired in 2010 as the Office Manager.

On December 26, 1947, Weezie and Danny married when she was just 19 years old. They shared 72 years of love and companionship, filling their life together with family, laughter, and adventure, including many anniversary cruises. Danny and Weezie were avid dog lovers who had multiple "lassies" over the years.

Weezie will be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor, generous spirit, sharp mind, strong work ethic, and fun-loving personality. Her deep love for family, friends, and faith was ever-present in how she lived. She had a passion for church, golf, and games, especially bingo, and she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was an active member of her church, the Galen Hall Golf Club, and the Adamstown Women’s Club, where she served as president. She also taught Sunday school, won multiple golf tournaments, and even modeled for Donecker’s.

Above all, Weezie cherished time with those she loved. She was a devoted “neighbor-turned-grandma" to Brooke and Alicia, whose wisdom, quality time, life lessons, warmth, and wit left a lasting impression on Alicia and her husband, Jeremy; Brooke and her husband, Mitch, their three children, Harrison (5), Cole (3), and Margaret (1); and to everyone who had the joy of knowing her.

Weezie is survived by her “neighbor-girls-turned-granddaughters,” Brooke Denlinger and Alicia Weaver; her cousin, Gale; her nephew, Peter; her niece, Elizabeth; Danny’s nieces, Sally & Michelle, and nephew, Albert. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Lawrence; her sister, Dolores; her cousin, Mary Louise; Mary Louise's daughter, Rene; and Weezie's beloved husband, Daniel.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 15, at 9:15 AM at The Highlands at Wyomissing. All who knew and loved Weezie are welcome to attend and celebrate her meaningful and joyful life.

Instead of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Highlands scholarship fund via the Highlands at Wyomissing.

Weezie’s family wishes to thank the compassionate caregivers at The Highlands at Wyomissing for their dedicated support in her final days.
