Martha M.
Coble
Mar 28, 1949 — Jun 23, 2026
Martha M. (Kitch) Coble, 77, of Ephrata, affectionately known as Marty, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Lancaster General Hospital.
Marty’s roots ran deep in Ephrata, where she was born, raised, and built a life full of genuine connections. She spent a significant chapter of her life brightening the days and evenings of many as a bartender at the former Reamstown Inn. Her engaging spirit, quick wit, and unmistakable sense of humor became legendary among patrons and friends alike. To be close to Marty was to be teased in love—her playful spirit ensured there was always laughter in her company, and her honest, straightforward manner meant you always knew where you stood with her.
Music shaped the rhythm of Marty’s life. She was a passionate fan of classic bands like the Eagles and southern rock groups, not merely following their songs but immersing herself in the minutiae—knowing every band member, their songs, and even their birthdays. Music trivia was her forte, and her deep knowledge astonished and delighted those who shared in her love for music.
Marty found joy in life’s simple pleasures: relaxing with adult coloring books or puzzle books, tending lovingly to her houseplants, and exploring the world of home remedies. She was an avid reader and enjoyed mystery novels, with a particular fondness for the works of Stephen King. The Wagon Train show also held a special place in her routine, bringing her comfort and entertainment.
Marty is survived by three children, Joanne Catherson, Lori Englerth (Chuck), and Dan Reich; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, David Kitch; sister, Lisa Heister; and her faithful beagle, Johnny-boy, who was ever by her side.
Private services will be held to honor Marty’s memory.
