Nancy J.
Russell
May 9, 1939 – January 14, 2026
Nancy J. Russell, 86, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, at Ephrata Manor, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 9, 1939, in West Cocalico Township, Nancy was the daughter of the late Fred & Esther (Kulp) Ibach, and the loving wife of Samuel Russell for 68 years this past June.
A graduate of what was formerly known as Upper Leacock High School, Nancy went on to have a fulfilling career as a customer service representative for Fulton Bank. Her professional life was a testament to her commitment to helping others, and her warm demeanor left an indelible mark on her colleagues and customers alike. Nancy was a devoted member of Ebenezer E.C. Church, where she actively participated in her faith community. Her spirit of service extended beyond the church, as she also volunteered at the Leola Library, sharing her love for reading with others. Nancy and Sam were very involved with collecting and selling antiques, which led to building a log home where they opened Potting Shed Antiques. This antique shop has been run over 30 years since they started. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, finding joy in playing cards, tackling crossword puzzles, and indulging in captivating books. Throughout her life, Nancy faced challenges with grace, supported by the love of her family and community. Nancy’s life was marked by her unwavering kindness, dedication to service, and her deep love for her family, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Samuel "Sam" Russell, and their three children: Brian, husband of Lori Russell; Cathy, wife of Scott Shenk; and Todd A. Russell; four grandchildren: Colin Russell, Brendon Shenk, Sam (Kelsi) Shenk, and Taryn Shenk; a niece, a nephew, and many cousins, all of whom will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Esther (Kulp) Ibach, and her brother, J. Kenneth Ibach.
Services will be private to the family. Nancy’s final resting place will be at Groffdale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are appreciated to Ephrata Manor; 99 Bethany Rd, Ephrata, PA 17522. Nancy’s family would like to express their ultimate appreciation for the loving and supportive staff and community of Ephrata Manor for all they did for Nancy over the last few years.
