Nevin R. Andes, 83, of Ephrata, went to meet his Lord & Savior on Thursday, July 2, 2026. He passed away at home after a 12-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones.
Nevin was born in Ephrata to parents, Ray and Irene (Wenger) Andes and he was the loving husband of 62 years to Darla (Nissley) Andes, his high school sweetheart. After graduating from Ephrata High School, class of 1960, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and served his country for 4 years. After the Corps, he attended business school and entered the banking industry, working at several banks over the next 20 years. After his children were grown, he followed his passion and opened the Cycle Barn. He had spent years taking vacations on motorcycles with his wife and daughters, from Florida to Nova Scotia. The family also took a 4-week cross-country vacation, camping in a van. He and some friends started an Eagle Scout group where they built dams in the Seglock Mountains. He played Santa Claus at the Ephrata Area Rehab Services. He taught bible school and Sunday school and decided to follow his calling to the ministry. He retired in 2009. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren whom he taught to fish, shoot, drive and ride motorcycles.
In addition to his wife Darla, Nevin is survived by two daughters, Toni Cromleigh (Ted) and Tammy Bollman (Michael); three grandchildren, Kayla, Ryan, & Nikki; two sisters, Clarissa Allen and June White. Nevin was predeceased by two brothers, Lester Andes and Clarence Andes.
