Paul E. Moyer

Remembering "Gene" with Love... Paul Eugene "Gene" Moyer, age 83, of Ephrata Borough, died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Born in Terre Hill, a son of the late Paul G. and Martha (Grossman) Moyer, he was the husband of Ardelle M. (Rathman) Moyer for 62 years. As a Korean War Army veteran he received a Purple Heart. Gene worked over 30 years as a life insurance agent, last with Monumental Life Insurance Company, out of their York Office. He was a member of Salem Evangelical Reformed Church, East Cocalico Lions Club, and Happy Hours Club, all Reamstown; The American Legion Cloister Post 429, Ephrata; and The Friendly Circle, Akron. Many people have known him over the years as the "Candyman". Also surviving, daughter, Kathi (Tom) Perry, Ephrata; sons, Kerry (Cindy Garner) Moyer, Ephrata; and Kelly (Lisa Horning) Moyer, Schoeneck; grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Tim, Jonathan, Josiah Hannah; and great-grandson, Micah. Service Information... Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012, at 10:00 AM from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with his pastor, The Rev. Stephen E. Hollinger, officiating. Burial with military honors in Salem Union Cemetery , Reamstown. The viewing will be Sunday from 6 to 8 pm and prior to the service Monday.
