Richard B. Wise

Richard B. Wise, age 86, of Bern Township, Leesport, Berks County, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, December 29, 2016, at 9:30 AM in Rosewood Rehabilitation Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County, PA. Born in Bowmansville, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Katie B. (Von Nieda) Wise. A 1947 Mohnton High School graduate he played baseball tennis and was a Korean War Navy veteran. Richard was a dispatcher for Santilli Oil, Shoemakersville. He was a member of Leesport United Church of Christ. An avid outdoorsman, he loved his horse, 'Powder Puff', dog, 'Jake'; and was a Yankees Packers fan. Surviving are his wife, Melva H. (Cramer) Wise, Leesport; and a daughter, Roxanne M. Wise, partnered with Peter Sweigart, Reading. He was predeceased by sisters, R. Laverne Burkhart and Betty Potteiger. A private viewing will be held at Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Reamstown. Private inurnment with military honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Lebanon County.
