Reinholds

Ronald E. Shober, 87, of Reinholds, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 16th, 2025. Born in Reamstown, Ronald was a son of the late Geroge R. & Ada (Fritz) Shober. He also was the loving husband of Jean (Snader) Shober for 65 years

After his time in the United States Military, Ronald worked as a miner for Grace Mines and later Bethlehem Steel for over 20 years. Ronald was a member of St John's United Church of Christ and a former member of the VFW. Beyond his work, he had a passion for the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting, particularly small game, accompanied by his beloved beagles. Gardening and yard work also brought him joy, allowing him to connect with nature and cultivate beauty around him. Ronald will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his community, and the values he instilled in those fortunate enough to know him.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Jean; five children, RoJeana (Mike) Elser, Douglas (Stacy) Shober, Brenda (Robert Jr.) Becker, Julie (Michael) Mucha, and Susan (Wilmer) Hurst; twelve grandchildren: Rebecca Rutt, Joshua Elser, Samantha Hull, Stephanie Shober, Mitchell Shober, Lindsay Romeo, Jordan Becker, Jared Becker, Larissa Kazmierczak, Benjamin Fortna, Samuel Fortna, and Colleen Hurst; twelve great-grandchildren; five siblings: Fay Gable, Larry Shober, Gary Shober, Pat Adair, and Deb Redpath. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: George Shober, Cliff Shober, and Randy Shober.
