Shirley G. Rupp

Shirley G. Rupp, 90, of Ephrata, passed away peacefully on May 18th, 2025, at her home. Born in Reading, Shirley was the daughter of the late Morris W. and Julia (Sitko) Miller. She was also the loving wife of Mr. Reed R. Rupp.

After graduating from Ephrata High School, Shirley’s career included positions as a receptionist at Hamilton Equipment and Aye Machine Company, a hostess at The Hilltop, and as a skilled baker for the Edgewater Inn. Shirley's work was characterized by her attention to detail and a warm, welcoming demeanor that made her beloved by both colleagues and patrons alike. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Shirley had a profound commitment to her community. She served as a Girl Scout leader, guiding young girls in their development and growth. Her dedication extended to cooking for Meals on Wheels for twelve years and making an incredible contribution by donating eleven gallons of blood to the local blood bank, reflecting her deep-seated desire to help others in need. Shirley cherished her hobbies and interests, finding joy in crossword puzzles, baking, and cooking. These activities brought her happiness and allowed her to share her talents with family and friends, creating lasting memories through her culinary delights. Shirley will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her kindness, and her remarkable contributions to those around her.

A graveside service to honor Shirley's life will be held on May 22, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at Pleasant View located at 650 Fritztown Road, Reading, PA 19608.
