Obituary

Stanley A. Weaver, 70, passed away at his home in Denver on April 17, 2026, following a well-lived life. Born on June 30, 1955, in Ephrata, Stan was a son of the late Franklin E. & Shirley Ann (Brubaker) Weaver, and the loving husband of Lori L. (Wise) Weaver for 27 years since they married in November 1998.

A graduate of Ephrata High School in the class of 1973, Stan soon after answered the call to serve his country. From 1974 to 1978, he served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. His military career took him to Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina, the USS Canopus, and overseas postings in Rota, Spain, and Glasgow, Scotland. These experiences shaped much of the discipline and integrity that characterized his life. As a Marine, Stan always believed the command should be "Follow me." Following his military service, Stan settled back in Pennsylvania, living in Ephrata and Reinholds before eventually making his home in Clay Township, Denver. He brought his strong work ethic to various roles throughout his career. Stan worked in the shipping department of Congoleum-Kinder Corp in Denver, served as a foundry laborer at Ephrata Manufacturing Company, and later operated forklifts at Meridian Products in New Holland. Stan also nourished a rich life outside of work. His passion for sports was wide-ranging: he enjoyed hockey, baseball, football, and both Formula One and NHRA racing. During the 1980s, he was an active participant in a softball league sponsored by Marty's Garage, showing his team spirit and love for friendly competition. In quieter moments, Stan favored historical nonfiction, a genre that allowed him to stay connected to the past while remaining well-informed of current events. An animal lover throughout his life, Stan maintained freshwater aquariums and cared for many pets, with a special affection for German Shepherd dogs. His home near Middle Creek was a sanctuary where he frequently enjoyed observing local wildlife, a pastime that brought him peace and joy. His memory will continue to inspire and comfort the family, friends, and community who were privileged to share in his journey.

Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Lori Weaver; daughter, Brandi Weaver; two grandchildren, Gabby Sabo and Logan Sinclair; siblings, David Weaver, Scott Weaver, Daniel Weaver, and Fayetta Schwanger. He was preceded in death by his son, Shannon Weaver; brother, Frank Weaver; and sister, Doreen Weaver.

Services will be private to the family.
