Stephen E. White

Stephen Earl White, 78, of Ephrata, Pennsylvania, was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 2, 2025.

Steve was a loving, devoted husband to Delores (Ecenrode) White for 55 years. Together, they raised three children, Matthew (Beth) White of Lancaster Pennsylvania, David (Alicia) White, of Canby Oregon, and Elizabeth Umstead of Ephrata Pennsylvania. He was blessed to be a grandfather to eight grandchildren: Aidan, Azaiah, Kieran, Benjamin, Maddox, Brianna, Hunter and Jonah.

Steve graduated from Garden Spot High School in 1965. After graduation, he went on to attend Pennsylvania State University and graduated from Temple University School of Pharmacy in 1971. Steve was the first member of his family to graduate from college. Steve worked as a pharmacist from 1971 until 2012.

Steve was an active member of the Ephrata Community and had a strong desire to serve the community. He served on the Ephrata Borough Council, as well as on the War Memorial Association. Additionally, he served on the Ephrata Area School Board from 1984-1995. He was an active member of the Ephrata Church of the Brethren.

Steve was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan and loved the Eagles and the Phillies as well as Penn State football. In his free time, Steve enjoyed reading and researching his family genealogy.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Raymond and June (Lewis) White.

In addition to his loving wife, children and grandchildren, Steve leaves behind three sisters, Susanne (Art) Sell, Julia (Donald) Good, and Rebecca (Donald) Horst.

The service to honor his life will be held on Monday August 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Ephrata Church of the Brethren with Pastor Galen Hackman officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.

The family would like to thank everyone at Zerbe Sisters Skilled Nursing Facility for the excellent care he received during his time there.
