Violet G. Artz

Remembering Violet with Love... Violet G. Artz, 95, Bowmansville, died at home Nov. 13, 2011, under hospice care. Born in Red Run, a daughter of the late Elmer and Elsie V. (Burkhart) Sweigart, her husband of 63 years, Leon W. "Wimpy" Artz, died Dec. 5, 2001. A 1935 graduate of East Cocalico Vocational High School , she was a life-long member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church . Violet worked for Stunzi Silk Mill, Ephrata, and Weave Corp., Denver . A lady of strong faith and family values, she loved traveling, gardening and needlework. Surviving is a daughter, Patricia A. Artz, Bowmansville; and nieces and nephews. A son, Donald LaMar Artz, and brother, Marvin S. Sweigart, also predeceased her. Service Information... Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 18, at 10 AM from Muddy Creek Lutheran Church , 11 S. Muddy Creek Rd. , Denver , PA 17517 , with her pastor, The Rev. Paul W. Smeltz, officiating. Burial in Pleasant View Cemetery , Sinking Spring. A viewing will be held Friday 9-10 am.
