William E. Peters, 93, passed away on May 19, 2026, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born on February 21, 1933, in Annville, Pennsylvania, William was a son of the late Edwin & Hattie (Spangler) Peters, and the loving husband of the late Teresa M. Peters until her passing in 2009.

A graduate of Annville High School in 1951. William furthered his education at Thaddeus Stevens Trade School, where he specialized in electrical, graduating in 1958. This education laid the foundation for his lifelong career as an electrician, eventually starting his own business, W. E. Peters & Son Electrical in Ephrata. William’s service extended beyond his professional life. A veteran of the Navy, he held his military service in great honor He was a longtime member of the Lions Club in Ephrata, serving a term as its president. He committed over 35 years to the Ephrata Fire Police, exemplifying his dedication to public safety and the wellbeing of his community. He was also a devoted member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. William enjoyed working around the house, landscaping and gardening, and was keen on maintaining and working on cars. An avid fan of racing and NASCAR, he found joy and excitement in the sport. His contributions to his community, his family, and his church left an indelible mark. He will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who had the privilege to know him.

William is survived by two daughters, Donna M., wife of Fred S. Neyhard of Ephrata, and Karen L., wife of Michael L. Mitchell of Lititz, PA; a son, Scott W. Peters, husband of Connie L. (Jones) of Ephrata; seven grandchildren—Jennifer, Kelly, Jaclyn, Dean, Jodee, Ryan, and Justin; 15 great-grandchildren; and two half-brothers. He also leaves behind his loving and devoted companion, Mary Peachey. Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa M. Peters, and his daughter, Patricia A., wife of Tom Pierce.

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 29th, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 11:30 a.m. at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre; 100 W. Main Street, Ephrata, PA 17522. William will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Ephrata with military honors provided by the Red Rose Honor Guard and Vet21 Honor Guard.
