Remembering "Rudy" with Love... William "Rudy" Brossman, 91, East Earl, died following a brief illness at home August 20, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Red Run, a son of the late John V. and Katie (Hainely) Brossman, his wife of 66 years, Cherrylyn M. (Dubson) Brossman, died April 17. "Rudy" was a World War II Marine Corps veteran and received a purple heart for the battle at Iwo Jima . A member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, he enjoyed hunting, was a board member of The Ann Brossman Sweigart Charitable Foundation, a member of the Adamstown VFW and the Ephrata American Legion. He actively owned and operated Valley Shoppe Hats Antiques, East Earl, for 42 years, was a Stoudt's Black Angus Antique Mall standholder for 35 years and worked at Bollman Hat Company, Adamstown. Surviving is a daughter, C. Lynn (Gary R.) Redcay, Reinholds; a son, W. Craig (Ruth Ann Johnson) Brossman, Terre Hill; grandsons, William Michael Brossman and Jason R. Redcay; sister, Kathryn G. (Franklin E.) Kutz, Denver ; and brother, Pheryl V. (Carolyn Denny) Brossman, Seguin , TX . He was predeceased by a brother, John L. Brossman. Memorial Service and Inurnment... Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at 11:00 AM from Muddy Creek Lutheran Church , 11 South Muddy Creek Road , Denver , PA 17517 , with his pastor, The Rev. Paul W. Smeltz, officiating, with family greeting friends following the service. Inurnment at 2:30 PM from St. John's Gernant's Cemetery, Leesport.
