Cyril E. Wingenroth

Remembering Cyril with Love... Cyril E. Wingenroth, 94, 115 Farm Crest Drive , Ephrata , PA , died Monday, May 21, 2007, in Ephrata Community Hospital . Born in Ephrata Township , he was a son of the late Clarence L. and Bertha May (Burkhart) Wingenroth, and was the husband of Tina (Klaassen) Kohl Wingenroth for the past 8 years. His first wife, Luella (Unruh) Wingenroth, died February 16, 1996. Former council president, Sunday school teacher and longtime trustee of Emmanuel Mennonite Church , Reinholds, he was also active on the church's dart ball team. A graduate of Philadelphia Textile Institute, Cyril retired in 1978, after 48 years, as vice-president of Bollman Hat Company, Adamstown, where he was responsible for expediting numerous operations of manufacturing hats with several notable patented inventions. He served as a consultant to the textile industry following retirement. Cyril was a civilian air patrol spotter during World War II. Loving the mountains and an avid hunter, he was a member of Whitehead Hunting Lodge, Cameron County , enjoyed golfing, woodworking, traveling and riding the roller coaster at Hershey Park . In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Betty Ann, wife of Leroy Witmer, Jr., Ephrata , PA ; and Barbara L., wife of Larry J. Horst, Stevens, PA; 2 sons, William, husband of Jean (Getz) Wingenroth, Ephrata, PA; and Thomas C., husband of Sandy (Bingaman) Wingenroth, Ephrata, PA; 2 step-daughters, Lois, wife of Harry Haas, New Holland, PA; and Nancy, wife of John Fern, Port Charlotte, FL; a step-son, Harold "Bud" H., husband of Ann L. (Shirk) Kohl, Denver, PA; 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. A brother, Clair, preceded him in death. Viewing Funeral Service... Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at 10:00 AM from Emmanuel Mennonite Church , 1200 West Swartzville Road , Reinholds , PA 17569 , with burial following in Cedar Hill Cemetery , Ephrata , PA. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre of Reamstown.
