Charles Wilson

December 21, 1939 — December 10, 2021

Charles S. Wilson, 81, of Stevens, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021. The oldest of nine children, Charles was born in Philadelphia to the late Stewart S. & Marghuerita L. (Insley) Wilson, and he was the devoted husband of over 30 years to Rita A (Powidzski) Wilson until her passing. Charles grew up in the Bristol, Pa area, a graduate of Delhaas High School, class of 1957. He attended Millersville State College, Philadelphia Bible College, and was proud to be a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed horses, owning several over the years, though his best stories included Duke and Thunder, two of his favorites. He never bought his own horse; they were always gifted to him. He was entrusted with the care of many horses, working in the boarding stables, riding, and training - truly a labor of love for him. A talented welder, fabricator and contractor, Charles worked in steel manufacturing for many years. Family was important to Charles and many fond memories were made on family boat outings. Warm summer days on the Bayliner, waterskiing, and tubing on the Delaware River was a favorite. In retirement, Charles kept busy as always, taking a parttime job as a driver at Auto Haus where he enjoyed moving cars and making deliveries. Charles was a faith-based man, rooted in the words of the bible, he led by example. He was a member of Terre Hill Bible Fellowship Church. Charles always gave of himself, always doing a favor for someone, and never sought anything in return. He saw his daily ability to keep so busy as a gift from God. He will forever be remembered for his endless energy, giving spirit, and genuine kindness. Charles is survived by his son, Scott C. Wilson, fiance of Chelsea M. Riggeal, of Stevens; four grandchildren, Alex Wilson (Allison), Allison Wilson (fiance, Jake Carl), Mackenzie Wilson, Albie Santos; seven siblings, John Wilson (Pam), Donna Andrzejewski (Frank), Lois Mullen (Jim), James Wilson (Valerie), Joseph Wilson (Mary), Timothy Wilson, and Deborah Mahon (Robert); and special companion, Linda Jones. In addition to his wife, Charles is predeceased by a brother, Robert E. Wilson. A visitation will be held, Sunday, Dec. 19th from 1 to 2 p.m. at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 34 N. Reamstown Rd., Reamstown (Stevens) and a Celebration of Life service will begin at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Kevin Kirkpatrick. Floral tributes are appreciated and can be ordered thru the funeral home website, www.goodfuneral.com.
