Estella Mcquate

Estella McQuate, age 97, formerly of Denver, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at 11:40 AM in Mifflin Center, Shillington, Berks County, PA. Born in Vera Cruz, East Cocalico Township, a daughter of the late Milton and Stella (Trostle) Buchter, she worked at the former Gerber Industries, Ephrata, and had been a longtime cook and waitress at several area eateries. She was the oldest life-member of Reinhold VFW Ladies Auxiliary and loved cross stitchery, playing cards, crafts, gardening and crossword puzzles. Surviving is her daughter, Joyce E., married to G. David Wade, Stevens; grandchildren, Geoffrey Hassler, Curtis Hassler, Darryl Hassler, Lynette Hause, Ronita Buskirk, Renee Cammauf & John Wade; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Viola Moyer, Shillington; & brothers, Charles, married to Ruth Buchter, Shillington; & Leon, married to Catharine Buchter, Wernersville. Estella was predeceased by her longtime companion, Harold Paul, and 9 siblings. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 11, at 1 PM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with viewing from noon to 1 PM. Rev. Barry Moyer, Chaplain at Mifflin Center will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
