Laurie Miller

Laurie Anne Kurtz Miller, aged 46, of Spring Township, Berks County, PA, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, surrounded by her loving family following a battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She was also under the care of Berks Visiting Nurse Hospice. Born in Ephrata, a daughter of Jack R. and Joan (Bramble) Kurtz, Ocean City, NJ, she was the wife of Eric Lee Miller for 14 years. A 1984 Conrad Weiser High School graduate, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Kutztown University in 1990. Laurie worked at 201 West Food & Spirits, Shillington, PA. She was in cross country in school, volunteered with Meals on Wheels in the Reading area and belonged to Cushion Peak Rod & Gun Club. Also surviving is her son, Alexander Lee Miller, at home; sister, Betsy (Dan) Brosnan, Buzzards Bay, MA; brother, Steve, partner of Mario Lamela, Miami, FL; aunt, Mary Kathryn Bramble, Machias, ME; and in-laws, Lee & Carol (Schaeffer) Miller, Robesonia; sister-in-law, Kristen Miller, Houston, TX; and grandma-in-law, Jane L. Schaeffer, York. A public visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, from Noon to 2:00 PM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown. Rather than flowers, contributions in Laurie"s memory may be sent to TNBC (Triple Negative Breast Cancer) Foundation, P. O. Box 204, Norwood, NJ 07648. At Laurie"s request there will be no viewing and a private service will be held for the family with Pastor Henry Herbener officiating.
