Gary D. Shober, 80, of East Cocalico Twp., passed away Tues, Oct. 21st, 2025, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Gary as a son of the late George R. and Ada Alberta (Fritz) Shober. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War.
Gary had a strong work ethic through decades of service at several local companies - Bollman Hat Company in Adamstown, the Denver Shoe Factory, the former Grace Mines, Boose Aluminum Foundry in Reamstown, and the former Hoffman Industries in Sinking Spring.
Outside of work, Gary found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing mini golf, and rarely missed an episode of his favorite game shows. He enjoyed watching football and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. Gary was also a member of Peace UCC.
Gary is survived by siblings, Faye Wenrich (Robert), Larry Shober (Charlotte), Pat Adair (Greg), and Debra Redpath. He was predeceased by brothers, Clifford, George, Ronald, and Randy Shober
Gary’s final resting place is Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap on Mon., Oct. 27th at 2:00 p.m.
