Donald K. Hatt, 94, of Sinking Spring, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Phoebe Berks in Wernersville. Born in Adamstown, Don was a son to the late Archie L. Sr. and Stella Mae (High) Hatt and the devoted husband to Leslie Lucille (Lutz) Hatt for 65 years until her passing in 2018.
Don was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served from 1950 to 1952. He worked as a welding assembler for the former Sperry New Holland, agricultural equipment manufacturing. He was often referred to as a ‘Motor-Head’, a title he proudly wore, and enjoyed local dirt track racing. Don was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, working on his small farm in Sinking Spring, and horses. He was very handy and could fix practically anything.
Don is survived by two sons, D. Kenneth Hatt (Patricia) and Clint Hatt (Brenda); three grandchildren: Ben (Meredith) Hatt, Nicole Hatt, Craig (Shirley) Hatt; and five great-grandchildren, Cora, Julia, Brynn, Claire, C.J., and Conner. In addition to his wife, Don was predeceased by three brothers, Archie L. Hatt, Jr; Westley A. Hatt, Scott W. Hatt.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 19th at 11 a.m. in Mohn’s Hill E.C. Church Cemetery, 708 Mohn’s Hill Rd., Reading, Pa 19608.
