Chester Stauffer

Chester Stauffer, 77 of Lancaster, SC, formerly of Stevens, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023. Born in Snyder Co., Chester was a son of the late Allen S. & Nancy H. (Brubaker) Stauffer and the loving husband of 58 years to E. Lucille (Haldeman) Stauffer.

Chester worked at Gehman Feed Mill, Inc. of Denver for over 40 years, retiring in 2006. Faith and family were most important to Chester. He and his wife, Lucille, were the perfect team. He loved his role as Grandpa and had a special relationship with each of his grandkids. Special moments for Chester included taking the grandkids for a wagon ride with his John Deere tractor and going fishing. Chester loved being outdoors, he enjoyed landscaping and even a game of golf. He had a strong work ethic, endless faith, and loved unconditionally. He and Lucille moved to Lancaster, South Carolina after retiring where simple pleasures like his horses, Fred & Buck, and sitting on the patio sharing coffee with Lucille, brough him great joy. His sense of humor and his gentle, joyful nature will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife, Chester is survived by four children, Roger L. Stauffer of Middlefield, OH, Sherrie L Morgan (Frankie) of Denver, Pa, Rick L. Stauffer (Wendy) of Washington, MO, Christina L. Consylman (Darin) of Harrisburg; nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren with one on the way. Chester was predeceased by an infant grandchild. He is also survived by 3 brothers, 5 sisters, and predeceased by 1 brother.

A viewing will be held Monday, August 28th from 10 to 11a.m. at Gravenor Home for Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, Pa 17522 and the funeral service will begin at 11am. Interment will follow at Middle Creek Cemetery, Ephrata.
