Remembering Eugene with Love... Eugene Wesley Hubler, 87, Muhlenberg Township , died Oct. 23, 2011, in Rittenhouse Sr. Care Center . Born in Reading , a son of the late Charles and Eva (Troxell) Hubler, his wife, Rose Marie, died in 1987. A 1949 Lehigh University graduate he was a self-employed civil engineer for 40 years, having served as senior structural engineer for both the Ohio and Pennsylvania turnpikes and was the chief designer of Ultra Clean Rooms for Western Electric, now Lucent. Eugene was a two time purple heart recipient during his Army service in WWII, and was a long-time owner-breeder of harness race horses. A well-liked, intelligent man, he lived life in his own way; running for congress in 1972. Surviving are nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy Slusser, Emma Breininger and Ruth Hummel; and brothers, Howard and Stuart. Service Information...
