Frances T. (Eisenhofer) Horning, 94, of Denver, passed away in her home on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, in the loving presence of her family and sweet dog, Hansi, lying right beside her. Born in West Reading, Frances was a daughter to the late George and Anna (Rotzer) Eisenhofer. She was married to her loving husband, Eugene S. Horning from 1953 until his passing in 2010.
Francy grew up in West Reading, a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, class of 1947. She and Gene moved to Lancaster County after his service in the Air Force. Francy enjoyed raising her family, she was a very involved and supportive mother. She encouraged her children’s love of animals and cared for many dogs, horses, cats, chickens, and more over the years. Francy was a talented seamstress, making beautiful dresses for her granddaughters. Running laundry through a wringer-washer, keeping a very tidy home, caring for her family, while weeding a meticulous vegetable and flower garden was just a typical day for Francy and daily time at the public pool. She could get so much done in a day! After the kids were a little older, Francy put her sewing skills to work at the former Shirley Manufacturing and Cinderella Mills. For fun she loved to ride the motorcycle with Gene, spending time with her best friend Cassie Kochel, and going to flea markets and Shady Maple for the best produce. Francy’s faith was also a big part of her life. She was a member of OMPH Catholic Church in Ephrata.
Frances is survived by daughters, Audrey A. Weber of Denver, and Sandra J. Stover, wife of Frederick of Stevens; son, Michael G. Horning of Denver; six grandchildren; Michael (Kim) Weber, Jesse (Jayne) Weber, Kelly (Curtis) Zimmerman, Kacy (Drew) Lascoskie, Matthew (Christina) Stover, and Andrew Stover; four great-grandchildren, Maggie, Mayson, Hayley, and Mallory. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Stover; son-in-law, James Weber; and daughter-in-law, Patti Fick.
