Terry L. Ansel, 71, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born December 14, 1954, in Reamstown, PA, he was the son of Warren and Elizabeth (NEE: Gerhart) Ansel. Terry married Margaret Jaskot on February 25, 1995, in Denver, PA, and the couple lived in a 1790s house that he had restored in Reamstown. They moved to Manheim Twp. following the birth of their 2 children and then to Mt. Pleasant, WI after his retirement.
After graduating from Cocalico High School, Terry worked in construction before starting as a welder and machinist at Case New Holland. He retired in 2017 after more than 30 years with the Company. During the early 90’s, Terry was also a part-owner of the Blainsport Tavern.
Terry was an outdoor enthusiast who loved birdwatching, gardening, and skiing. He enjoyed traveling, classic rock, photography, and spending time with family and friends. A devoted father, Terry could always be found at his children’s tennis matches. He was also a published genealogist and talented artist who carved and painted life-like wooden ducks.
Terry will be deeply missed by his wife, Margaret, son Daniel, and daughter Katherine (Francis) Grey, along with his brothers and sisters Thomas (Nina) Ansel, Diane Fichthorn, Joanne MacMurray, and Ted (Nancy) Ansel, his sister-in-law Linda Ansel and other relatives and friends. Terry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Timothy Ansel.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on March 12, 2026, a visitation will take place from 10:00 AM with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 PM at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre; 34-38 N. Reamstown Road, Reamstown (Stevens), PA.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to either the National Audubon Society or the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in his honor.
