Dorothy Lefever

Dorothy Lefever, age 83, of Ephrata, died Saturday, October 13, 2012, in Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Smokestown, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry S. and Mamie (Althouse) Lefever. She worked 27 years for Ship-n-Shore, Ephrata, and last for Walter W. Moyer, Inc. Ephrata. Dorothy, a local entertainer, played guitar and sang with The Happy Trio for over 40 years and with Dottie & The Country Sounds and The Old Timers. Surviving is a son, Donald (Tina Weaver) Lefever, Denver; daughters, Diana Simon, Washington, PA; Twins, Sharon (George) Styer, Sinking Spring; and Karen (Scott) Artz, Bird in Hand; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by a grandson, Donovan Lefever, and brother, Lester Lefever. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from Good Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 17, at 10:00 AM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with Rev. Robert A. Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in Hammer Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Elizabeth Township, Lititz, PA 17543.
