Remembering Kathryn with Love... Kathryn Weinhold Sloat, 96, formerly of Reamstown, died Monday, January 8, 2007, at 11:22 PM in Fairmount Homes, Inc., Farmersville, where she resided since March 15, 2001. Born February 21, 1910, in Reamstown, she was a daughter of the late Stephen B. and Katie Youndt (Withers) Weinhold. Her husband, H. Evans Sloat, died September 18, 1979. A 1927 graduate of East Cocalico High School , Reamstown, she was a 1929 graduate of Millersville State Normal School . Her 41 year elementary teaching career with Cocalico School District began at Pleasant Breeze one-room school, then East Denver , Stevens and Reamstown schools. A 60 year member of former Salem Lutheran Church, Reamstown, where she sang in the choir for 30 years and directed junior choir for 25 years, she was last a member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, Swartzville. Kathryn was a member of Lititz Spring Chapter #499 Order of Eastern Star (former Cloister Chapter member) and had volunteered for many years in the Ephrata Hospital gift shop. Surviving are a son, David E., husband of June ( Davis ) Sloat, Reamstown , PA ; and a daughter, Kathleen L. Ebling, Reinholds, PA; grandchildren, Christine, wife of Benjamin Hayes, Mifflinburg, PA; Steven, husband of Sue (Myer) Sloat, Denver, PA; Denise, wife of Kevin Shupp, Middleburg, PA; Matthew, husband of Hui-Chen Ebling, West Reading, PA; and Maria, wife of Daniel Harter, Manassas, VA; and 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry M. "Honey" Weinhold, predeceased her. Viewing Funeral Service... Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2007, at 10:00 AM from Muddy Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church , 11 South Muddy Creek Road , Denver , PA 17517 , with her pastor, The Rev. Paul W. Smeltz, officiating. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 PM from the chapel at Fairmount Homes, Inc., 333 Wheat Ridge Drive , Ephrata , PA 17522 and at the church Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Burial in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville, PA. Contributions remembering Kathryn may be sent to the Cocalico Education Fund, Post Office Box 177 , Denver , PA 17517 . Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre of Reamstown is serving the family.
