Lester H. Young

Remembering Lester with Love... Lester H. Young, age 77, Lititz, Lancaster County, PA, died Sunday, June 19, 2011, in Lancaster General Hospital . Born in Penn Township , Lancaster County, PA, he was a son of the late Phares B. and Anna M. (Hagey) Young. A graduate of Penn Manor High School , he was employed for many years as Lancaster County Dog Law Supervisor with the PA Department of Agriculture and J. C. Snavely Son, Lancaster. Lester was director and board member of the Humane League of Lancaster County, enjoyed woodworking, golf and reading. Surviving is a son, Jeffrey A. (Nancy L. Diller) Young, Columbia ; daughter, Lori Ann (Timothy) Kelly, Ephrata; 3 grandchilren; his longtime companion with whom he resided, Jean F. Barnhart, and her 4 children and 13 grandchildren; and brother, Wallace H. Young, Lancaster. He was predeceased by brothers, Gayle, Vernon Arthur. Service Information... Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 23, at 8:00 PM from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with Les' neighbor, Pastor Clyde M. Hollinger officiating. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 PM. Private inurnment in Hernley's Cemetery, Manheim.
