Pierce D. Sweigart

Remembering Pierce with Love... Pierce D. Sweigart, age 83, of Myerstown, Lebanon County, PA, and formerly of South 4th St . , Denver , Lancaster County, PA, died Monday, October 17, 2011, in Lebanon VA Medical Center Hospice. Born in Lancaster , a son of the late Harvey K. and Helen C. (Redcay) Sweigart, his wife, Mabel H. (Young) Sweigart, died February 22, 2010. A member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville/ Denver , he had been attending Frieden's Lutheran Church , Myerstown. Pierce worked for 35 years as office manager for Weaver Industries, Denver , and was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of Denver Borough Police Commission, Denver Fire Company, Basketball Old Timers, American Legion Cloister Post 429, Lancaster Chapter - National Association of Accountants, Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmans Clubs and the Marion Seniors Group of Myerstown. Surviving is a twin brother, Daniel P. (Louise Law) Sweigart, Adamstown; 2 grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was predeceased by a son, Robin D. Sweigart. Service Information... Funeral services will be Friday, October 21, 2011, at 11 AM from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with Rev. Dr. Robert K. Miller officiating with burial in Muddy Creek Cemetery , Swartzville. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM.
