Thelma R. Rosen died on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, at the age of 92 after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. At the time of her death, she was a resident at Ephrata Manor, where she had lived for the past four years. Prior to that, she had lived at Hawk Valley in Denver, PA. Thelma Rosen was born in Philadelphia on June 26, 1927, to V. Carl and Thelma C. (Bair) Beeler. She attended local schools and graduated from Glen-Nor High School in the class of 1945. She married Vincent Grisafi, with whom she had four children; that marriage ended in divorce. Her marriage to Robert Brinker ended with his death in 1976. A third marriage to Isaac M. Rosen lasted until his death in 2008. A lifelong Episcopalian, at the time of her death, she was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Reading. For many years, Thelma was an avid golfer, playing at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, PA. She also enjoyed bowling, square dancing, travel, and dining out. She was a devoted follower of her television soap operas. Until her eyes began to fail, she liked to read and do needlework and crossword puzzles. Throughout her life, she remained in close contact with her three sisters, chatting with them on the phone nearly every day. For many years, a favorite Saturday morning ritual was breakfast at Shady Maple restaurant in East Earl, shared with many members of the family. Family was the focal point of Thelma's life. She will be remembered and missed as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is survived by three children: Nancy (Kenneth) Ames of West Chester, Betty Gregg of Exton, and Stephen (Susan) Grisafi of Stevens; a step-son Mark (Brenda) Rosen of Lancaster, PA; eleven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a sister, Carol (Carl) Carlson of Jacksonville, FL; a brother-in-law, Ward McMasters of Penndel, PA; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas; two sisters, Peggy and Shirley; and two brothers, Bruce and David. Viewing: Monday, January 27 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Good Sipler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc., 34-38 North Reamstown Road, Reamstown, PA 17567. Service: 12:00 PM. Interment will be private.
