Arlene Burd

Arlene S. (Schmeck) Burd, 93, of Denver, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, February 25, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Vinemont, Arlene was a daughter of the late Raymond & Annie (Ulrich) Schmeck and the loving wife of 73 years to Clarence R. Burd until his passing in 2017. Arlene loved her family dearly and cherished the special relationships she had with each of them. Her caring and giving spirit as Mammy will forever be treasured. Survivors include three children, Clarence (Betty Jane) Burd, Jr. of Denver, Patricia Stricker of Reinholds, and Ronald (Carol) Burd of Stevens; eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; & 11 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Arlene was predeceased by her brother, Clarence Schmeck; two sisters, Stella Weiler & Helen Hartranft; grandson, Wesley Burd; & recently her son in-inlaw, Robert Stricker. Services are private. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
